NaNa

Taking over my coffee before I have a chance

NaNa got here yesterday just fine.....well I say just fine..hahaha she did get lost and I had to drive to Wendy's to get her. This involved waking Olivia up from a nap! WHOA!! NaNa was brave to ask such a request!!

Anywho, upon arrival to Wendy's Olivia was throwing NaNa kisses and then within 15 mins she was up in NaNa's arms!! It was a glorious site to see!!

Well, Nanner wants to say a few words!!

excuse me!!!!!!!! I only got lost after I was in Rochester..... Someone forgot to tell me to turn left or right at a certain point and needless to say my guess was incorrect. I drove through my first flashflood in Erie county and I don't ever want to do that again.

OK here goes...........
What can I say. Pure perfection, pure and simple. NaNa's girl. She's a clown, cute, scarey intelligent. Have been very busy and have not had time to post pictures. Will have Les add some not. See you guys soon... Here they are!!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Cooking Pizza with Daddy

Making sure the pizza does not burn!

Daddy the pizza is done!

Gene Simmons in training!! Just look at the tongue!

Saturday:

We went to the mall about 12:30 to walk around before Chris got his eyes examed for new glasses. We had lunch - Indian food, yes Indian food at the food court in the Mall- and I thought since Olivia normally takes a nap around 1230 or 1pm she would fall asleep in her stroller. Hmm, boy was Mama wrong!! She was too busy people watching to go to sleep. She is one nosy little girl! We did not leave the mall until 330, although it was almost the moment the car started moving she fell asleep. But she did not get much of a nap as we were on our way to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a quick visit. I say quick but we were there until 530 or 6pm. She was having a great time playing with Grandma and eating her cottage cheese and strawberries!!

We got home had a quick bite to eat and she was off to dreamland. Nope, no bath Saturday!

Sunday:

Aunt Rachel and Uncle Tim had not met Olivia yet so we had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's. Uncle Louie even showed up! Olivia LOVED Uncle Louie!! He is a lovable guy though, so no big surprise there!

Olivia ate from the moment we got there until just before we left! She had pulled pork, chicken, peas, baked beans, bread, guacamole, corn chips, ice cream, cannoli, cookies, fruit....I can not even remember what she ate!! I am surprised she was not sick!!

The only moment when she cried, well I say cried, she let it rip actually was when we were getting ready to leave. I was out of sight cleaning up her toys and books and Chris was getting ready to take her high chair to the car. Everyone else was sitting at the table chatting, Olivia was sitting on Uncle Louie's lap. I heard what sounded like Olivia say bye-bye so Chris said "see ya later" and started walking away. Not good, she could not see mama and Daddy was walking away with her high chair. She was not happy and let everyone know it!! I have not heard her cry that hard and loud since we got her. When I walked over to get her she was crying so hard she was sweating like crazy! My poor baby girl! Although, I hated to see her this upset, it also felt good to see her that upset. It means she is truly bonding and knows who is mama and baba (daddy in Mandarin). Even though we were getting ready to leave, for the remainder of the evening she would not allow Chris or I to put her on the floor. She wanted to be held!! She wanted to make sure she was getting in the car....hahahaha!

Monday:

We did not really do anything but play around the house.

Tuesday:

Another Mall day for the girls!

Uncle Chuck you ready?? Your favorite niece got 2 X's tonight!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

She was not happy and whew did she scream and cry! You ask what she did?? She kept hitting Aztek in the nose! All afternoon I kept reminder her we needed to be gentle with the pup pup's hmmmm I think she had selective hearing on those orders! She hit poor little Aztek so hard once on the nose that she started sneezing! Mama started issueing the correctives, the bottom lip came out and then the little crying and screaming started! I gathered her on my lap and talked her through what just happened and asked her if she was ready to go apologize to Aztek. Not sure if she really and truly understood but she shook her little head yes and walked over and gave Aztek a soft little pat, Aztek started licking her little hands! So cute! But for such a short time because before I knew it she smacked her again! HAHAHA, repeat above! HAHAHAHA soooooo 2 x's!! Anywho, all is well now!

Enough for now, Mama is exhausted! LOLOLOL

Events of Today 8/10

Today Olivia and I were going shopping early for some shoes but since my car battery was dead we took a walk around the block. She was a little imp today, into everything she knows not to get into to!! She would look at me to see if I was watching and then go at it! It did not matter was it was she was in it. The last thing I found her doing before her Daddy came home? Playing in the dogs water bowl!! ICK! But she was having a blast!

We finally did go get some shoes for the little one! And also some food since she is eating us out of everything. Although today she really did not want anything other than fruits, green beans and cottage cheese. Strange child! Definately does not take after Uncle Chuck!! HAHAHAHA

For dinner all she would eat was oranges, strawberries, and yogurt, but she did share with Daddy. I included a picture! So sweet!

Here ya go Dada
Trying to hide from Olivia! It did not work~

Reflections

I was looking at pictures of my sweet girl and realized my cup truly runneth over!!

Legacy of an Adopted Child
Once there were two women who never knew each other.
One you do not remember, the other you call mother.
Two different lives, shaped to make your one...One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.
The first gave you life and the second taught you to live it.
The first gave you a need for love, and the second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name.
One gave you a seed of talent, the other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.
One gave you up ... that's all she could do.
The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you.
And now you ask me, through your fears, the age old question unanswered throughout the years...Heredity or environment, which are you the product of?Neither, my darling neither.
Just two different kinds of love.

Opening my gifts

Last night Grandma and Grandpa came over and we opened gifts given to Olivia from Chris's work. Boy did she get some loot. Lets see, she got a glow worm, cell phone - she loved it, a few DVD's, some bibs, and a few other things!! The big hit was Grandma and Grandpa, she had a blast playing with them.
Olivia is sleeping really well. She has been getting about 10-11 hours sleep at night and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. She really is not on a set schedule but I love the fact that she is sleeping. And she really needs the sleep to continue getting better from the crud she has. The doc changed her medicine on Friday and I can really tell a difference. Although, at times she still has a little rattle in her throat. But her nose is not running ghostbuster green slime! HAHA
Olivia really has sensitive skin so her ped suggested we try Cetaphil soap and lotion for her. Even in such a short time of use I can really see and feel a difference. She is not scratching as much and I do not feel the little bumps on her skin. Her scalp is also really dry so I drenched her head in the lotion as well. I believe it is the water in China. Even the short time that we were in China, I have dry patches on my face and body. I am going to try the cetaphil to see if it will clear up my skin as well.
She is also eating like she is in a contest! She would give those guys a run for their money in the Coney Island hot dog eating contest! Remember while we were in China and I said she did not like peaches?? Well, she has changed her mind! HAHA So, there is nothing she will not eat! I think it is great that she loves fruits and vegies! Tonight at dinner she ate, are you ready for this list?? She had turkey breast, green beans, carrots, cottage cheese, oranges, and peaches! I am surprised she did not pop! I honestly needed to remove the food from the table. I think she would have kept eating until she was sick! Crazy girl!
Well, enough for now, It is 900pm and I am ready for bed!! HAHAHAHA
Take care everyone and sweet dreams!!
